About Me

My wife and I are missionaries to England. We will be planting local, New Testament, Bible-believing Baptist churches. We are sent out of Mamre Baptist Church in Kitts Hill, Ohio. We will be serving in Beeches Road Baptist Chapel upon arrival. This is a church plant near Birmingham, England. Please pray for God to be glorified and the hearts of the British to be opened to the Gospel!

Georgia and the Ensemble

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we were in the Mission Conference of Gateway Baptist Church in Cleveland, Georgia.  The pastor, Ross Sparks, is the father of Bethany from our Ladies' Ensemble.  The guest speaker was unable to make it due to health issues, so Jonathan had the opportunity to preach on Thursday and Friday night.  On Friday, we drove up to Knoxville and picked up the girls so they could sing in the evening meeting.  We had a wonderful time singing together again, except Bethany was ill and unable to come to the meeting!
The Lord really blessed this meeting and we had a great time of fellowship!

On Saturday morning, we met at the church for a home-cooked breakfast and had a little extra time before we had to leave, so we visited the Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland General Hospital in Cleveland, Georgia.
Saturday was their Appalachain Christmas Event.  The decorations were beautiful and we enjoyed seeing all the dolls on display.

We all picked out our favorite baby for the picture.

Southern Ohio Mission Conferences

We are praising the Lord for two wonderful mission conferences close to home!  On Sunday and Monday we had the privilege to share our mission with Solida Baptist Church during their Mission Conference.  Their theme was Investing for Eternity!! We are so thankful for Pastor and Mrs. Childers and the faithful members at Solida.  This is the third time we have been with them since this summer and have enjoyed getting to know them!

I had the opportunity to play piano for the congregational singing and the choir.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we attended the Mission Conference at Mamre, our sending church.  It is always a blessing to be at home!
This is my mom!  She has been at the church every day this week cooking for the missionaries!

On Wednesday night the Marietta Bible College Choir came to sing!  There were students from the Philippines, Syria, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Togo, and the United States!  Many of these students are first or second generation Christians who were led to Christ by missionaries.  The joy of the Lord was radiating from their voices and smiles as they proclaimed Christ in song.

Tonight's menu was Six Bean Chili, Potato Soup, Grilled Cheese sandwiches and Apple Crisp!

Our theme this week was 'Got Missions?'  The theme verse was Hebrews 5:13-14.

Tomorrow morning we will leave for Cleveland, Georgia, where we will be in a mission conference from Thursday to Saturday!  Please pray for our safety and the Lord's presence in the meeting!

Sunday in Virginia

This weekend spent some time with friends in Knoxville on Saturday and were able to attend a service at Temple Baptist Church in Powell, TN.  On Sunday evening we traveled to Chilhowie, VA to be in a service at Chilhowie Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Herrell.  Pastor Herrell was my pastor when I was younger before he moved to Virginia.  I have been to this church a few times before, so many of the people were familiar.
Jonathan spoke to the congregation about our burden for England.

Mrs. Sharon Conley, Me, and Mrs. Linda Herrell!! Happy reunion!

Food and fellowship after the service

Wednesday evening  we were in Dearborn Heights, Michigan with Pastor Chris Staub.  We visited this church during the summer with the ladies ensemble from Crown.

Both of these churches were a special blessing to us with their Spirit-filled singing and preaching!

Running a Marathon

We didn't really run a marathon, but it sure feels like it!  The past month has been a whirlwind of meetings and traveling from state to state.  We were in twelve churches during the month of October.  Four of these meetings were mission conferences, running twelve nights back to back.  We had a wonderful time meeting many different people and getting reacquainted with many old friends!

We were unable to make it to one Sunday evening meeting because our car broke down, again!  We praise the Lord that it would not start when we got it to the mechanic so he could actually see what was happening.  There was a break in a wire between the starter and the ignition.  The wonderful people at Temple Baptist Church in Muncie, IN took excellent care of us while we were stranded.

I am a little behind on posting, so here are some pics from September:
We enjoyed hearing this choir in West Virginia.  What a blessing!

After a service at South Webster Baptist Church, we ate at Giovanni's with Pastor Grinstead and his family.
What a tasty idea!!
These girls are enjoying some Cadbury chocolate in a meeting in Cleveland, OH.

We were blessed to spend about a week and a half with some friends in Powell, TN before and during the World Mission Conference at Temple Baptist Church.

Robert and Tanya Rutta were our hosts for the week!  They were also in charge of the Oceania display for the conference.
We met Queen Elizabeth I in the Europe Room.
Here is Philip Thompson playing a game in Europe.
Pastor Michalcewicz, his wife, and another couple sang a special at the Mission Conference in Eaton Rapids, MI.

We stayed with Ms. Seka, who is the church pianist in Eaton Rapids.  She has such a wonderful heart for the Lord and such a sweet spirit!

Please pray for our safety as we are traveling.  November will be another busy month, with the added blessing of Thanksgiving in Missouri with Jonathan's family!  We are looking forward to being in several churches close to his home.  Jonathan has not been home since Christmas of 2008 and has not been home for Thanksgiving since before college!!  This will be a special time for us and his family.
